The med-tec company PolarCool AB (publ) continues to establish the PolarCap® in Swedish ice hockey, by signing a three year agreement with HockeyEttan club Nyköpings SK, for use of the PolarCap® System.

PolarCool develops and markets the product PolarCap, which alleviates the effects of concussion. The primary users of PolarCap include sports clubs, organizations, and facilities in contact sports such as ice hockey, rugby, and handball, but also other sports with an increased risk of concussion.  PolarCool has a strong presence in SHL, yet the company has recently strengthened its presence among clubs within the lower levels of Swedish ice hockey, both in HockeyAllsvenskan and HockeyEttan.

HockeyEttan is the third division of Swedish ice hockey, and the league includes a total of 40 clubs playing across regional divisions. Nyköpings SK is now the fourth club in the league to sign an agreement with PolarCool this year. PolarCool’s goal is to strengthen its presence in HockeyEttan and the agreement brings strategic value, even if the financial significance of individual agreements is limited.

Nyköpings SK’s chairman Magnus Idebro comments;

-I am happy and proud that we in Nyköpings SK as a club choose to prioritize the safety of our players by providing the PolarCap System. We see the issue of our players’ health and well-being as very important, and we hope for an extended collaboration within HockeyEttan and that more clubs will follow us to ensure players’ safety.
